this is a very flexible analogue synth which Korg introduced in 1981. It's four VCO's (voltage-controller oscillators) can be configured so the Mono/Poly can be used either as a single oscillator four-voice polyphonic synth or as a super fat four oscillator monophonic synth. Each VCO is fully independent and can generate triangle, sine, saw, and PWM waveforms. The Mono/Poly also features two LFOs with individual rate controls and seperate ADSR envelope generators for both the VCF (voltage-controlled filter) and VCA (voltage-controlled amplifier). It also features a powerful arpeggiator/sequencer with cool effects, including the ability to control all four VCOS simultaneously or cycle through all four every four notes. The Mono/Poly provides an array of VCO sync effects and also features portamento and chord memory. CV (control voltage) and Gate inputs and outputs - for both VCO and VCF control - enable external sequencing and manipulation in real time. One of the most unique, stable, and versatile monophonic synthesizers from the analogue era.
